Cover Photo: A Blessing of cycles and cyclists has become an annual event in Massachusetts. It was started several years ago by Jerry Rand and Pete's Roamers MC with the hope that each year the event would be sponsored by a different club in the area. So far Pete's Roamers of Fitchburg have held it twice, Archie's Riders of Worcester, once, and Pete's Riders of Boston, once. This year Burt's Riders of Williamatic, Conn., will be the hosts. The host club meets all incoming riders outside of the city. At a given time they ride into the city and are escorted to the church of their choice. After services, all riders assemble at a designated point, form groups and are escorted by City and State Police to a park for the Blessing event. (Cover photo shows this escorted parade) Basket lunches are available and then a band concert is heard. After several talks by officials the Blessing is performed by a priest, minister and rabbi. It is the hope of these clubs, this will become an annual national event, held on the first Sunday in June as a Memorial Day for motorcyclists.
